Dr Alexander Gouralnik

Senior Clinical Audiologist

Alex is an experienced clinical audiologist with special interests in the areas of adult and paediatric diagnostic and rehabilitative audiology. Alex holds a Masters degree in Clinical Audiology from the University of Melbourne and is a Full Practicing Member of the Audiological Society of Australia. He is also a qualified and experienced Speech Pathologist.


Dr Lucy Matthews

ENT Surgeon

Lucy is an Australian trained and qualified Ear Nose and Throat (ENT), and Head and Neck Surgeon. She practices in general adult and paediatric ENT surgery with special interest in voice and conditions of the larynx, thyroid and parathyroid disorders, salivary gland disease, nasal obstruction and sinus conditions, paediatric ENT, snoring and obstructive sleep apnoea in children and adults. 

Lucy trained in paediatric ENT at the Royal Children’s Hospital, Brisbane and gained experience in head and neck trauma at The Alfred Hospital, Melbourne. She is passionate about employing new and innovative techniques through regular attendance at national and international conferences. 

Dr Matthews is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) and holds a consultant appointment at Barwon Health, Geelong. She also maintains strong academic ties and actively undertakes teaching of advanced ENT surgical trainees. 

Dr Matthews takes an individualised approach to patient care. She recognises the importance of communication and takes pride in providing patients with a satisfying experience. With her own young family, she understand the challenges of parenthood and relates well to parents with young children. 


Mr Anthony Rotman (MBBS BBiomedSc PGDipSurgAnat FRACS)

ENT Surgeon

Anthony is a Melbourne-based Ear, Nose, Throat, Head & Neck Surgeon (Otolaryngologist). After completing his medical degree at the University of Melbourne, he trained at various hospitals including the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital, Monash Health, the Royal Children’s Hospital and the Alfred. In doing so he gained experience in managing both paediatric and adult ENT conditions.


After receiving his Fellowship from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, Anthony completed further training in the United Kingdom. With a specialist interest in disorders of the voice box and trachea, he achieved a Royal College of Surgeons England-approved Fellowship in Laryngology at the National Centre for Airway Reconstruction in London, followed by a further Fellowship focusing on voice and swallowing disorders.


Anthony specialises in treating

  • Throat problems, including voice, breathing and swallowing troubles

  • Nasal problems including blockage, allergy, bleeding, sinus disease

  • Snoring/Sleep apnoea in adults and children, including tonsil and adenoid surgery

  • Hearing loss and ear troubles in adults and children

  • Neck lumps and thyroid disease

  • Salivary gland problems


With a number of publications and presentations as well as regular attendance at national and international training courses, Anthony utilises current evidence and techniques to benefit his patients. He also takes an active role in teaching ENT trainees at Monash Health, where he holds a Consultant appointment and performs a range of ENT procedures on children and adults.  Anthony delivers a comprehensive consultation and understands the significance of explaining things thoroughly to his patients. Having young children of his own, he can relate to parental concerns about their family’s well-being and has a gentle approach with infants and children.
