Dr Alexander Gouralnik
Senior Clinical Audiologist
Alex is an experienced clinical audiologist with special interests in the areas of adult and paediatric diagnostic and rehabilitative audiology. Alex holds a Masters degree in Clinical Audiology from the University of Melbourne and is a Full Practicing Member of the Audiological Society of Australia. He is also a qualified and experienced Speech Pathologist.

Mr Anthony Rotman (MBBS BBiomedSc PGDipSurgAnat FRACS)
ENT Surgeon
Anthony is a Melbourne-based Ear, Nose, Throat, Head & Neck Surgeon (Otolaryngologist). After completing his medical degree at the University of Melbourne, he trained at various hospitals including the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital, Monash Health, the Royal Children’s Hospital and the Alfred. In doing so he gained experience in managing both paediatric and adult ENT conditions.
After receiving his Fellowship from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, Anthony completed further training in the United Kingdom. With a specialist interest in disorders of the voice box and trachea, he achieved a Royal College of Surgeons England-approved Fellowship in Laryngology at the National Centre for Airway Reconstruction in London, followed by a further Fellowship focusing on voice and swallowing disorders.

With a number of publications and presentations as well as regular attendance at national and international training courses, Anthony utilises current evidence and techniques to benefit his patients. He also takes an active role in teaching ENT trainees at Monash Health, where he holds a Consultant appointment and performs a range of ENT procedures on children and adults. Anthony delivers a comprehensive consultation and understands the significance of explaining things thoroughly to his patients. Having young children of his own, he can relate to parental concerns about their family’s well-being and has a gentle approach with infants and children.

Dr. JB (Kobus) Opperman
ENT, Head and Neck Surgeon

Kobus is a locally based ENT, Head and Neck Surgeon, with a passion for Head and Neck Oncology. He is a dedicated and meticulous surgeon, always aiming to ensure the best possible outcomes for his patients. Having his own family, he understands the challenges of having ill youngsters at home and the strain that it places on the whole household. He thus always creates an inviting and friendly environment for little ones attending the practice.
He completed his medical degree at the University of Pretoria, South Africa (Cum Laude). He was awarded the prestigious Vice-Chancellor and Principal Award for the top student over 6 years of study. He was also recognised as the top-achieving student in the Faculty of Health Science, University of Pretoria (2012). He was also inducted as a member of the Golden Key Society.
Dr. Opperman was selected to specialise in ENT, Head and Neck Surgery (University of Pretoria), which he completed with distinction. During this time, he also attained a Master’s Degree in Otorhinolaryngology (Cum Laude), with special focus on local anaesthetics and pain relief post-tonsillectomy. He was subsequently awarded the research prize at the annual ENT Society of South Africa Congress (2019).
Kobus has always felt a calling to be involved with cancer management and embarked on a two-and-a-half-year Fellowship in Head and Neck Oncology at Monash Health. His clinical acumen and passion for his patients was evident early on, and he progressed to being employed as a Consultant ENT, Head and Neck Surgeon. During this time, he also completed his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS). Kobus also holds a Diploma in Primary Emergency Care and a Diploma in HIV Management.

Having presented at a number of congresses and published in high impact journals, Kobus always adopts the attitude of being a ‘Student of Life and a Student for Life’. He regularly attends national and international congresses. In his role as consultant surgeon at Monash Health, Dr. Opperman is also very passionate about training and mentoring the next generation of ENT Surgeons and prides himself on comprehensive and holistic care for his patients. Kobus is very much a family man and a man of faith, enjoying involvement in community upliftment projects. He’s extremely grateful to his beautiful wife, Igna and two princesses for all their love and support throughout his career.
